Principal's Message

Dear Elm Tree Elementary School Community,

Welcome to a new school year at P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary School!

As I begin another year serving this extraordinary community, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for all that we will accomplish together. For more than a decade, I have had the privilege of serving the children and families of Corona, and my commitment remains steadfast: to ensure that every child at Elm Tree Elementary School  is known, valued, challenged, and supported to reach their fullest potential.

This year, we will continue to be guided by three words that reflect who we are and how we move forward together:

Purpose. Partnership. Possibility.

Purpose means being intentional about how we teach, how students learn, and the experiences we create each day. We will continue to strengthen literacy and mathematics instruction, deepen student thinking and discourse, and use student work and data to ensure every child receives the support and challenge they need.

Partnership means recognizing that our students thrive when we work together. Our teachers, staff, families, students, and community partners each have an important role in creating a strong school community. We will continue to strengthen communication, engagement, and collaboration with our families and partners.

Possibility means believing in what every child can become. We will celebrate the languages, cultures, strengths, talents, and experiences our students bring to Elm Tree Elementary School while creating classrooms where students feel safe to take risks, persevere, and discover what they are capable of achieving.

Our commitment extends beyond academics. We will continue to nurture the whole child, fostering belonging, confidence, character, positive relationships, and a strong sense of community. Every student should walk through our doors knowing, “I matter. I belong. I can succeed.”

As we move forward, we will continue to learn, reflect, and grow as a school. We will celebrate our successes, embrace opportunities for improvement, and hold ourselves to high expectations because our students deserve our very best.

To our families and community partners, thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Educating children is a shared responsibility, and we are stronger when we work together. I look forward to listening, learning, and continuing to build meaningful partnerships that support our students and strengthen our school community.

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar en P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary School!

Al comenzar otro año sirviendo a esta extraordinaria comunidad, me siento profundamente agradecida y emocionada por todo lo que lograremos juntos. Durante más de una década, he tenido el privilegio de servir a los niños y las familias de Corona, y mi compromiso permanece firme: asegurar que cada niño de Elm Tree Elementary School sea conocido, valorado, motivado, y apoyado para alcanzar su máximo potencial.

Este año continuaremos guiándonos por tres palabras que reflejan quiénes somos y cómo avanzamos juntos:

Propósito. Colaboración. Posibilidad.

Propósito significa ser intencionales en la manera en que enseñamos, en cómo aprenden nuestros estudiantes y en las experiencias que creamos cada día. Continuaremos fortaleciendo la enseñanza de la lectoescritura y las matemáticas, profundizando el pensamiento y el diálogo de los estudiantes, y utilizando el trabajo estudiantil y los datos para asegurar que cada niño reciba el apoyo que necesita.

Colaboración significa reconocer que nuestros estudiantes prosperan cuando trabajamos juntos. Nuestros maestros, el personal escolar, las familias, los estudiantes y nuestros socios comunitarios desempeñan un papel importante en la creación de una comunidad escolar sólida. Continuaremos fortaleciendo la comunicación, la participación y la colaboración con nuestras familias y socios.

Posibilidad significa creer en todo lo que cada niño puede llegar a ser. Celebraremos los idiomas, las culturas, las fortalezas, los talentos y las experiencias que nuestros estudiantes aportan a Elm Tree Elementary School, mientras creamos salones de clase donde los estudiantes se sientan seguros para tomar riesgos, perseverar y descubrir todo lo que son capaces de lograr.

Nuestro compromiso va más allá de lo académico. Continuaremos apoyando al niño en su totalidad, fomentando el sentido de pertenencia, la confianza, el carácter, las relaciones positivas y un fuerte sentido de comunidad. Cada estudiante debe entrar por nuestras puertas sabiendo: “Soy importante. Pertenezco aquí. Puedo tener éxito.”

A medida que avanzamos, continuaremos aprendiendo, reflexionando y creciendo como escuela. Celebraremos nuestros logros, aprovecharemos las oportunidades para mejorar y mantendremos altas expectativas porque nuestros estudiantes merecen lo mejor de nosotros.

A nuestras familias y socios comunitarios, gracias por su confianza y colaboración continua. Educar a nuestros niños es una responsabilidad compartida, y somos más fuertes cuando trabajamos juntos. Espero continuar escuchando, aprendiendo y fortaleciendo alianzas significativas que apoyen a nuestros estudiantes y fortalezcan nuestra comunidad escolar.
