The Perfect Way to Track Your Child’s Bus Rides To and From School
The New York City Department of Education is modernizing our school transportation system with new and exciting tools that our parents will be able to use to ensure that their child arrives to and from school in a safe and timely manner.
One such tool is the NYC School Bus Phone Application which allows parents with a complete overview of their child’s school bus whenever they are on their way to school or on their way home.
Some of the features that are included within the NYC School Bus Phone Application are:
- A way for parents to track any of their children while they are on a school bus (whether they’re going to school in the morning or home in the evening)
- A map view of where the bus currently is
- Information related to the school bus, it’s route and the driver
- Real time alerts during the whole transportation process
- Information about the time and location at which their child is getting on and off the school bus
- Notifications about delays or other issues the bus may run into
- Gives parents the ability to translate everything within the application into 10 different languages
How to Get Started with the NYC School Bus App
Before our parents can download the NYC School Bus Phone Application they will need to set up their NYC Schools Account. The NYC Schools Account is your gateway to support and track your children's progress—grades, attendance, and now transportation.
The steps involved in setting up your NYC Schools Account and downloading the NYC School Bus App are as follows:
- Visit the NYC Schools Account site to register for an account.
- Reach out to our our School’s Parent Coordinator or our School’s Pupil Accounting Secretary (please see below for their contact information) to obtain your child’s ID number (if you already have this information then you may skip this step - once you have this number you’re ready to begin):

- Once you have both an NYC Schools Account and your child’s ID number then go ahead and download the NYC School Bus App or access the web version (which can be accessed using a laptop or desktop computer) using either of the links below (if you are having trouble with the app download link then please access this webpage from your phone):
Using the NYC School Bus App
Once the NYC School Bus App is downloaded to your smartphone you are ready to log into it and begin using it!
If you would like more information on how to log into the NYC School Bus App and use it then please see the steps below:
- Login to the app with your NYC Schools Account.
- If you need help with recovering your NYC Schools Account credentials then please contact Ms. Gisella Catarine, our school’s Parent Coordinator, at 929-260-0084 or through our various communication apps such as our EDLIO phone application.
- Select the child you'd like to track.
- Follow your child's bus. If your child's bus does not appear, the driver has not yet logged in to the app.
