We invite all families to join us for an engaging and empowering Parent Workshop focused on Parent Leadership in Action. This session will highlight the important role families play as visionaries in shaping our school community.

Our P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary May 2026 School Calendar includes important dates and school-wide events to help families plan ahead. Highlights include NYSESLAT testing for all grades (May 4–8), Staff Appreciation Week, Wellness Week, and Career Week. Families are also invited to join us for multiple Parent Leadership Workshops, a Town Hall Meeting (May 13 at 9:00 AM, in person), and a PTC Virtual Meeting (May 7).

This session, Parents as Visionaries, focuses on empowering families as leaders within our school community. Together, we will explore how strong family voice and partnership can positively impact student success. As we believe: “When families lead, schools listen. When schools listen, students thrive.”

Dear Elm Tree Families,

Join us for our remote **Evening Remote Parent-Teacher Conferences** on **May 7, 2026, from 4:30–7:30 PM** via Zoom.

Families of incoming students are invited to attend one of two grade-level sessions (4:30 PM or 6:30 PM) to learn about expectations for the upcoming school year, including academics, routines, and ways to support your child over the summer.

Please note: All students are dismissed at 2:20 PM! Before-school programs will run as scheduled, and All after-school programs are CANCELED!

CARES Parent Learning Day is designed to bring parents and caregivers together for a day of hands-on activities, engaging workshops, and meaningful connections. This special event focuses on building confidence, strengthening resilience, and providing families with tools and support to help navigate everyday challenges.

Dear Families,
Due to statewide connectivity issues, there were brief delays at the start of the Grades 3–8 Math exam. At P.S. 211, the issue was quickly resolved, and all students completed testing without further disruption.

NYC Public Schools has released important updates for families this May, including key information about the 2026–27 school year calendar, Summer Rising offers, admissions timelines, and upcoming events.

Our Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity to promote a love of reading while giving students access to a wide variety of engaging books. Students will have the chance to browse and purchase books throughout the week.
