CARES Parent Learning Day is designed to bring parents and caregivers together for a day of hands-on activities, engaging workshops, and meaningful connections. This special event focuses on building confidence, strengthening resilience, and providing families with tools and support to help navigate everyday challenges.

Dear Families,
Due to statewide connectivity issues, there were brief delays at the start of the Grades 3–8 Math exam. At P.S. 211, the issue was quickly resolved, and all students completed testing without further disruption.

NYC Public Schools has released important updates for families this May, including key information about the 2026–27 school year calendar, Summer Rising offers, admissions timelines, and upcoming events.

Our Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity to promote a love of reading while giving students access to a wide variety of engaging books. Students will have the chance to browse and purchase books throughout the week.

This month, we recognize World Autism Acceptance Month and Arab-American Heritage Month. Our SEL Monthly Focus is Generosity, with a CARES Virtue of Empathy guiding our work with students and families.
Our P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary April 2026 School Calendar includes important dates and school-wide events to help families plan ahead. Please note the following school closures: Spring Recess from April 2–10.

Join us in supporting our PTA as we raise funds for our Teacher Appreciation initiatives. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of treats and small items during their lunch time.

We would like to invite you to our parent workshop, Growing Little Writers: Hands-On Writing Support for Home, which will take place on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 at 8:30 AM in the P.S. 211 Gymnatorium.

Join District 24 for an engaging virtual workshop series, “Building Social Wellness at Home for Families,” designed to support positive interactions and strengthen relationships at home. Families will learn practical strategies for creating supportive home environments, fostering meaningful connections, and building emotional bonds with their children.
Session 1: April 21 at 6:30 PM (Facilitated in Spanish with English interpretation)
Session 2: April 22 at 6:30 PM (Facilitated in English with Spanish and Chinese interpretation)
