We would like to cordially invite you to attend our upcoming P.S. 211 Invention Convention (STEM Fair) which will take place in our school’s gym on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 between 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM!

About Event:

P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary School invites you to attend our upcoming P.S. 211 Invention Convention (STEM Fair) which will take place in our school’s gym on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 between 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM!

Our parents will have the opportunity to see what their child worked on for our P.S. 211 Invention Convention (STEM Fair) and see their project on display along with an explanation of how they solved a specific problem based on the theme that they chose to learn about.

The themes that our students were able to choose from this school year were:

• Circuits Circus - The circus is coming to Corona and they need your help creating the lights and sound! Find a partner to help design working circuits. 
• Dream It! Build It! - Elm Tree Elementary is taking architectural proposals for a new chicken coop and tree house! Create something unique!
• Clothespin Engineering - Architects are looking for ideas on how to build the tallest tower. What are your ideas? Can we break the record of longest dominoes made?
• Roller Coaster Engineering - A new theme park is looking for ideas for their next roller coaster. Work together to design and test your ideas!
• Lego Escape - The Lego Minifigures need to get down the hill as quickly and safely as possible! Create a Lego car, put a mini figure in it, and let it roll! Will it roll straight? Will it flip over? Will they make it?
• Monkey Balloon Zipline - Monkey Balloon Zipline! Create a balloon powered zipline vehicle that can safely transport a monkey across the gorge to a banana-filled wonderland!
• 3D Name Challenge - Elm Tree is out of pencils! Create a name tag without using writing materials. Your nameplate will have to stand up or lie flat without tape or glue!
