February 12th - March 12th, 2025- Congratulations P.S. 211Q Class 405! Their PSA Poster Can Be Found Throughout Queens, NY!

Dear Elm Tree Community, Class 405 chose to focus on the dangers of secondhand smoke, particularly its impact on children. Through their research, they discovered that smoking or vaping in New York City parks and playgrounds is illegal. Inspired by this finding, they launched their campaign! As part of their efforts, the students interviewed Jean Silva of the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Conservancy, who provided valuable insights into the prevalence and risks of smoking in public parks. Ultimately, Class 405 designed a PSA poster that will be displayed on LinkNYC screens throughout Queens for 30 days, thanks to a sponsorship from Council Member Francisco Moya. We are so proud of their advocacy and commitment to making our community healthier! Click the story to see where you can find it!
