January 26th, 2024 - P.S. 211’s Mid Year Letter to Parents

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we reach the midpoint of the school year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and collaboration in ensuring a safe and enriching environment for our students. The well-being of our school community remains our top priority, and I would like to update you on several important aspects.

**Health and Safety Measures:**

Our school continues to implement rigorous health and safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines, including mask-wearing when we are feeling "under the weather" or just recouping from an illness, hand hygiene, and illness/health protocols we have put in place.

**Instructional Updates:**

Our dedicated team of educators have been working diligently to provide high-quality instruction. We emphasize the critical role of daily reading in fostering a love for learning and enhancing academic success. Please take advantage of opportunities at home to create a reading-friendly environment for your child. The public library is a valuable resource to support this initiative, offering a wide range of books and programs to encourage a lifelong love of reading in addition to our take home books and classroom lending libraries.

**After School Opportunities:**

We are actively working to bring collaborative partnerships in the arts to offer additional opportunities for our students. While these partnerships are still in development, we appreciate your patience as we strive to create enriching after-school programs that contribute to the holistic development of your child.

**Finishing the Year Strong:**

As we approach the second half of the academic year, we are committed to supporting our students in their academic and personal growth. We have exciting plans for engaging activities, projects, and assessments to make the learning experience memorable and impactful.

We encourage all our families to stay involved in their child's education by attending parent-teacher conferences, participating in school events, fostering daily reading opportunities at home with the support of the public library, and keeping an eye out for upcoming after-school opportunities.  Please stay connected with our communication platforms of Kinvo, Elm Tree App and School Website.  For any additional resources needed, please contact [email protected] and [email protected].

Thank you for your continued partnership in making our school community a place where students thrive academically and socially. Together, we can ensure a successful and fulfilling academic year for every student.

Warm regards,

Ms. Niven
