March 8th, 2023 - P.S. 211 Invites You to Celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day!
Dear families and staff of P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary School,
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that March marks the beginning of Women’s History Month while March 8th is the celebration of International Women’s Day and we would like to invite you to celebrate the many amazing women throughout history and in our own lives with us!
In recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, our school would like to encourage all of our students and staff to honor our women by creating projects about women’s challenges and gender equality, highlight women’s achievement in history and also dress up or represent a woman in history that they admire!
There have been many amazing women throughout history that have achieved many great things such as Amelia Earhart (who was a famous aviator) and Helen Keller (who was a famous author and disability rights activist).
In honor of these women (and all others throughout history and our own lives), the Social Emotional Learning Team at P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary has put together a slide deck which commemorates and encourages the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.
Our teachers will be utilizing this slideshow throughout the month of March to honor the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in the United States.
Please see below to access the PDF copy of this exact slideshow:
For more information feel free to contact Ms. Gisella Catarine, our school’s Parent Coordinator, at 929-260-0084.
We want to thank our students and school community for celebrating all of the amazing women in our lives and can’t wait to see some of the creative projects that they come up with!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!
Sincerely,
P.S. 211 Elm Tree Family
