May 2nd, 2023 - ALERT!!: Vote Now for Your Education Council Representatives!!
Dear families and staff of P.S. 211 Elm Tree Elementary School,
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that all parents are now able to place their vote for the Community and Citywide Education Council Representatives!
We encourage all of our parents and guardians to place their vote for the Education Council Representatives as they play an important role within our school communities. Community and Citywide Education Councils (CCECs) offer important advice to the Chancellor and the New York City Department of Education.
The CCECs responsibilities include things such as:
- Hosting Town Halls with the Chancellor
- Advising on education policies and improvements to school buildings
- Collaborating with superintendents to improve student achievement
- Deciding on zoning lines and consulting on school co-locations
This is your chance to have a voice within our school community and help shape your child’s future!
There are many ways that you can cast your vote between April 21st and May 9th:
- Online via the NYC Schools Account (NYCSA)
- At our school with the help of our parent coordinator, Ms. Gisella Catarine
- Or at various sites around the city (listed below on the “Ways to Vote” PDF Flyer - available in English, Spanish and Mandarin languages)
For more information, please visit the Elections 2023 Community and Citywide Education Councils (CCECs) website or feel free to contact Ms. Gisella Catarine, our school’s Parent Coordinator, at 929-260-0084.
Please be advised that an ID is required to enter the school building.
